The CEO of General Motors, Rick Wagoner, was fired today by the Executive Branch of the Federal Government. Never mind all of the issues surrounding that, the point of the post is that the leadership of institutions is being forced to change. In my understanding of the world, that is a good thing if we are to reemerge from the Crisis in better shape.
Sayonara Wagoner! I remember the departing GM CEO having said that he would wait to see if Toyota and Honda would be successful with hybrid automobile technology before making a foray into them. That was 10 years ago and represents the latest in huge misses on the part of a U.S. auto company. Way back when, GM was a pioneer in this technology, but they weren’t willing to risk capital to market it. Super duh! Sayonara Wagoner!
