All quiet on the blogstern front

You may have noticed that I have been posting to the blog less than in the past.  Don’t be alarmed.  I am still diligently tracking businesses, the economy and the financial markets.  However, there really has not been much to comment upon of late.  The investment opportunity world is basically in a state of stasis, treading fearful waters, and waiting around for some good news to change the feelings of the U.S. consumer.  This has been the pervasive state of things since the month of May when fears of a European debt crisis that could cause a double-dip recession in the U.S. arose.

Be confident that I am continuing to watch the situation closely.  I still feel that the U.S. economy is not going to experience a double-dip recession and that fears of such an event are overblown.  That means right now is likely a good buying opportunity if you are interested in owning shares of U.S. businesses.  However, I also still feel as if the ultimate recovery from the financial fiasco of the last 3 years is going to be a slow grind.  In short, my mind has not really been changed much by recent events.  I invest relative to what I feel are business and economic fundamentals, not stock market gyrations.
