A New Position for Jason Apollo Voss

Good morning folks!

I am pleased to announce this morning that I have accepted a position as a Content Director for the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute (CFAI).  The CFAI is the organization that awards the famous Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation that you see after the names of many investment professionals, myself included.

As a Content Director it will be my job to scour the world for cutting edge financial information and technology and then creating compelling content for the membership of the CFAI to best represent that information.

My new role will see me and my wife moving to New York City as well as a significant dialing back in my blogging.  CFAI has granted me permission to continue to blog, and I will do just that.

However, the 2-8 hours a day I spend on the blog must clearly be dialed back.  My expectation is to publish more thought pieces, rather than just news interpretation pieces.  I hope that I have served a useful function for many of you over the past three years and my hope is to be even more useful going forward.  Effectively, I am lifting my scale upward from the day to day goings on of the financial markets and hope to provide a bigger picture overview.

I hope to meet many of you in the intervening years!

Jason

  1. That’s great! I’ll look forward to even your occasional posts on this site. Thank you for providing a sober analysis of what is happening in the world these past years, when times have been so hectic.

Will us non-CFA’s get to see what you write for the CFAI? Will it be useful/pertinent for us?

    Thanks,
    Nate

    • Hey Nate,

Not sure how the CFA Institute gig will evolve. The content is most likely going to be focused on increasing the value of the CFA members’ charters. However, the CFA Institute has a public enough face that my role – a new role – might evolve into a more general, public role. We’ll see.

      Thanks for your continued loyalty!

      Jason

    Congratulations!
And thanks for the gift of your blog.

    • Hi Michael,

And thanks for the gift of your interest in the blog! My role at the CFA Institute allows me to continue to promote my own works, such as The Intuitive Investor. There are workshops in the works…time will tell how my role and relationship with the public changes, evolves, and continues.

As I said to Nate…thanks for your loyalty!

Congratulations and best wishes in this leg of your career! Hopefully your work with CFA Institute will result in an even wider influence. I especially liked your suggestion for a ballot choice called, “None of the above.” Maybe some of your ideas will go mainstream faster now. Of course, I still look forward to your blogs and glad you can continue this activity even though you have to cut back.

My thoughts too. Would like his inputs.

    • Hello CJ. I think that you might have missed the post I put up the very day of this comment. Thanks for the continued loyalty. Now that I am more fully ensconced in NYC I will be posting more regularly. Jason
