Today I bought stocks
Posted by Jason Apollo Voss on Jan 15, 2009 in Blog | 0 commentsHello everyone,
Just a quick note to let all of you know that for the first time in about 4 years I bought U.S. equities today. Absolutely everything is on sale. We are talking about businesses whose future prospects remain strong for the far foreseeable future that are trading at prices not seen since the 1970s. More specifically I am talking about the P/E ratios (a valuation shorthand) being so very low for so many businesses. I strongly encourage those of you who are interested in investing to read my posting on P/E ratios. Then, if there are any businesses that you have thought about investing in, go to a site like Yahoo! Finance and take a look at the P/E ratios for that business.
Why did I buy now? See yesterday’s postings to get an idea.
If you are interested in what I purchased, I am sorry but I won’t be sharing that with you as that is contrary to the purposes of this blog. This is not a stock picking blog wherein you surrender your personal responsibility to an “expert.” I am much more interested in giving you tools that you can use to invest for yourself, as well as providing commentary on news events that I believe are significant.
Good luck!
Jason
