{"id":1892,"date":"2010-10-19T04:48:07","date_gmt":"2010-10-19T08:48:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jasonapollovoss.local\/?p=1892"},"modified":"2018-08-17T14:06:53","modified_gmt":"2018-08-17T18:06:53","slug":"apparently-i-am-not-the-only-one","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jasonapollovoss.com\/web\/2010\/10\/19\/apparently-i-am-not-the-only-one\/","title":{"rendered":"Apparently I am not the only one"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">That scion of the business press, the Wall Street Journal, in their story entitled, &#8220;Consumer Spending Grates,&#8221; acknowledges the economic dynamic I have been describing for months and months on the blog.\u00a0 Here I am referring to the &#8220;game of chicken&#8221; that has dogged the U.S. economy for the last year since the economy began stabilizing in the summer of 2009.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s what the Journal has to say:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">&#8220;From third-quarter earnings released so far this month, it&#8217;s clear that corporate America is still concerned about skittish customers. Businesses continue to employ discounts and other incentives to get customers in the door, and hopefully clutching a shopping bag or two on the way out.
