{"id":411,"date":"2010-05-05T08:23:00","date_gmt":"2010-05-05T12:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.intuitiveinvestor.com\/web\/?p=411"},"modified":"2018-08-19T10:13:56","modified_gmt":"2018-08-19T14:13:56","slug":"protest-in-slovakia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jasonapollovoss.com\/web\/2010\/05\/05\/protest-in-slovakia\/","title":{"rendered":"Protest in Slovakia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">As predicted, the Greek debt crisis continues to send aftershocks throughout the global financial system.\u00a0 I have detailed for you all of the ways in which the EU and IMF bailout could fail and regardless of success, could bring about the end of the EU.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Yesterday in Slovakia its Prime Minister, Robert Fico, loudly protested the Greek bailout.\u00a0 The right wing politician Fico is facing a re-election campaign and does not want his opponent to bring up\u00a0 his support of the bailout.\u00a0 Consequently, Fico is circumventing that potential by protesting aid to Greece himself.\u00a0 This is significant because the EU generally operates on consensus.\u00a0 This is a weakness I have highlighted many times before.\u00a0 If the Slovakians don&#8217;t pony up their expected contribution of 816 million euros then why should the Slovenians?\u00a0 And if the Slovenians do not contribute then why should the&#8230;?\u00a0 You get my point.\u00a0 Importantly, Robert Fico is not the only politician in the EU facing re-election.\u00a0 Nor is Slovakia the only country not wanting to bailout Greece.\u00a0 The next several weeks will be critical for assessing the viability of not only the Greek bailout, but also of the entire EU.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Jason<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As predicted, the Greek debt crisis continues to send aftershocks throughout the global financial system.\u00a0 I have detailed for you all of the ways in which the EU and IMF bailout could fail and regardless of success, could bring about the end of the EU.
