{"id":491,"date":"2010-09-16T08:09:00","date_gmt":"2010-09-16T12:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.intuitiveinvestor.com\/web\/?p=491"},"modified":"2018-08-17T14:18:03","modified_gmt":"2018-08-17T18:18:03","slug":"excellent-exports-tally-from-the-germans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jasonapollovoss.com\/web\/2010\/09\/16\/excellent-exports-tally-from-the-germans\/","title":{"rendered":"Excellent exports tally from the Germans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Good morning!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Yesterday, Germany&#8217;s Federal Statistical Office released the export tally for the country&#8217;s first 6 months.\u00a0 The numbers are very positive.\u00a0 Specifically exports were up 17.1% as compared with the first 6 months of 2009.\u00a0 Additionally, the European Union Commission estimates that German gross domestic product growth will be 3.4% for 2010.\u00a0 Recall that this number would be double the 1.7% economic growth expected for all of Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Analysis:<\/strong> That Europe&#8217;s largest and most important economy is set to return to economic growth that is more becoming of a typical economic expansion period\u00a0is an important\u00a0sign.\u00a0 There has been a lot of fear about the overall finances for the EU.\u00a0 The only way to permanently allay those fears if for the individual European nations to generate positive and strong economic growth.\u00a0 Because the German economy is the strongest and one of the most efficient (in terms of getting things done) in Europe, it serves as a leading edge indicator of EU health.\u00a0 To me it looks like Europe is going to escape the most recent economic downturn without a second dip into recession.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Much of the German export growth was in the high double digits to developing countries such as Brazil, China and Turkey.\u00a0 This also indicates that the Germans have emerged from the recession with a stronger roster of trading partners.\u00a0 It also indicates that developing nations are emerging from the recession more strongly than they entered it.\u00a0 This is because they are the nations placing big orders, not the first world countries that typically drive economic growth.\u00a0 For the world&#8217;s economy this is a strong sign of developing robustness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Importance grade:<\/strong> 9; nothing additional to add here.\u00a0 Germany is Europe&#8217;s most important economy and it is growing at a nice clip.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Jason<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good morning!
