GObama!

Just a few points to make this evening.

First, the election has come and gone and a vast constituency of former political leaders have been voted out of office. As I have been saying for a while now, in order for the financial markets to stabilize there has to be a change in the leadership that got us to this place. These include: CEOs and other executives, bureaucrats, legislators and the President. What has changed? The President has changed clearly. So too have many of the legislators. What will follow is a change in the bureaucracy as soon as President Barack Obama begins choosing his Cabinet. Not only that, but his political agenda will affect tremendous change, too. But even more important than all of that is that the voting public has changed and, at least for one election, has finally participated in shaping its own future. GObama!

Second, I never thought that in my lifetime I would see an African American President of our country. This is a truly wonderful thing as many things that previously seemed impossible can now said to be improbable instead. Hurray and congratulations to Barack Obama! GObama!

With a big, big smile!

  1. Thomas L. Friedman put it well: “The Civil War is over. Let Reconstruction begin.”

    The full piece.

It’s great to feel like we’re *all* going to be winners in this opportunity to change, as we help rebuild America into a better image than her former self.

What’s more, we get to witness a loving, respectful marriage at the heart of our government, setting an entirely different example of leadership that is acutely absent from the creations presented to us as “entertainment” in television programming, movies, tabloids, and other popular media.

    It’s about time!

  2. Obama reneged on a campaign promise and as the nerve to chew out the Democrats for being pis*s*d with him. He’s insufferable. He has gut punched us one time too a lot of. This is the last straw. I’m on the hunt for a challenger in 2012. He will NEVER get my vote once more. Spitzer, Dean, Bloomberg, Hillary, Franken, Richardson, Hikenlooper – anybody but Obama.
