Indebtedness is a national security issue

I wanted to share with you a quick stat that I think illustrates why debt is a national security issue.  I am of course speaking of U.S. government debt.  Here’s the stat…

• The Chinese government holds $868.4 billion in U.S. government debt.
• The U.S. has roughly 306 million citizens.
• Therefore, each U.S. citizen owes the Chinese $2,838!

Hopefully the above does not need parsing.  Oh, and please don’t read too much into this missive as to my politics.  When asked my political affiliation I always say: Thinker.
